King Azreth describes being Bonded

Below is an excerpt taken from an RP, explaining being bonded as King Azreth views it.

"There is no experience in the world that I can compare being Chosen to. Never again will you feel lonely or alone, you shall never have to bear burdens by yourself, and will always, always be loved unconditionally. Your Azrein will be the only thing you live for -- never again will you need to look to men or women for love and acceptance, for everything and anything you desire is within the mind and heart of your Bonded. They will follow you unto death, and shall protect you with their life, and you shall do the same. Every decision you make, they will be foremost in your thoughts, and you shall always see to their needs before your own. It is a far, far deeper thing than love that exists between Chosen and Bonded." The King's words trailed off and his sharp eyes lost their focus as his thoughts turned inward, thinking of Valdien, and how much he had given up for not only his Bonded, but for his people as well.

Azreth held up a slim finger, the emerald stone in his ring flickering in the firelight from the hearth. "However. You shall not ever be alone with your thoughts again. You will be foregoing all privacy, and you will never be able to keep a secret from your Bonded, Kiyoko. And, if anything you do goes against the morals and honor of your Bonded, they will repudiate you, severing their tie with you completely, entirely, leaving you broken, and you shall most likely take your own life. For knowing what to be Chosen is, and then being cast aside because of a choice you willingly made -- be it for vengeance or self-worth -- will rend your very soul asunder, and you will hate yourself for the remainder of your years. You will be required to put not only your life, but the life of your Azrein as well, on the line for honor and duty, and shall be seen in a far more public light than you would like."

..."To become Chosen is both the greatest blessing and the worst curse you have ever known, Kiyoko." The King allowed his words to settle in the dry air, green eyes meeting Kiyoko's gaze, apathetic and unflinching to the truths he had spoken.
