Zuru's little legs stretch to their lengths as the sun peaked inside the stables and crossed over his maw. It was only a few seconds after that he was up and leaning on the stall door. Then, pacing around the stall, and finally, nudging the poor sleeping stallion in the gut with his intrusive nose. "DAAADDY! GETUP! I wanna go play!" He whined. Despite the unusual amount of mobility the foal had, his main pelt had still not even been seen by his mother. Some believed he wanted to keep it a surprise for when he was old enough to play with less supervision, to astound the other foals and draw their attention, while others believed he was scared of his colors.

Whatever the reason, that blanket was glued to his face no matter where he stuck it. The insistent little foal whined again and threw his meager weight against his larger father. "DAAAAAADDYYYYYYYYY!" The foal whined in Ion's ear. At this point, several of the other horses in the stable were shooting the mischievous little runt dirty looks, regarding the lack of a rooster's need here for his presence. "C'mon, Dad! GET UP!" With this, he gave a snap at the stallion's ear, letting flat little teeth crimp the thin flesh and tug at it while the foal lay accross his father's belly.

Ion groaned. Whos idea was it too sleep over at the King's stable's, his? Really?
Ugh. The stallion winced as his black ear was tugged on strongly.
"I'm awake Azurite you can stop flopping like a stuck fish," he grinned. His foal had a lot of energy. He had since the very beginning.
Ion yawned and wiggled to slide his foal off. Once he was sure Azurite was out of the way, the dark stallion rose and shook himself out. Straw fell in waves of golden rain and decorated the displaced foal.
"Good morning my son. How are you this fine day?" Ion was still getting used to being the father of four boys. He thought that perhaps the foals he had adopted were a little easier at times to keep track of. But then they were close to being grown up so he could be wrong. Hellfyre and Prism certainly had fun with their mob of fillies.
Ion nosed open the door to the stable and led his foal out into the morning sunlight.
"Lets stop disturbing everyones sleep shall we?"
Ion walked away from the stables with long even strides and kept a close eye on his colt.
"So what do you want to do today?"

Zuru giggled and relinquished his hold on his father's ear, flopping off the stallion's girth before being buried in a clump of straw. After a slow moment, his hooded little head popped out of the mess like a daisy, tilting up at his father, the corner gripped in his maw. Spindly legs straightened beneath the foal before the blanket flapped with the shake, sending straw flying every which way, before he carefully settled the cloth in place again. "'kay!" he barked up at the stallion, watching the door like a dog that needed to pee.

But for the fact that Zippers were held on clothing, one could swear the air had zipped shut behind the foal, who, now with slightly freer reign, bolted out of the stall and shortly, out of the stables. By the time his father commented about the cesation of the bothering of other people, he'd already slipped through the stable's main doors, out into the sunlight, and the grass, and the sun. A warm breeze shifted through the stable as the entrance opened a little wider in his wake, before a great commotion would sound outside, including the guffaw of a startled human and several resounding thuds, not to mention that little dust cloud that seeped in through the door.

The scene revealed to Ion when he followed his unruly son was one of chaos... of confusion.... And of Azurite sprawled half-buried in hay with his rump over his head, his hooves in the air, and his blanket a tangled mess all about him while his spine curled against the wall of a fallen cart, while a human or two were strewn about, trying to clear dust from their eyes or lungs. The blanket, it it's tangled mess, had managed to wrap itself around all four of his hooves, wrapped around his back, in the process.

The sight that greeted Dark Ion was one of chaos and confusion, he had to bit his lip to keep the laughter in. This was such an odd sight. He apologized to the humans about their cart and righted his son into a less contorted position. "Are you alright Azurite?" he asked the foal.

"Next time perhaps you will not dash straight on into a line of traffic?" he asked. "If you were hurt your mother would never forgive me you know. You and your brothers are very special to me and her. Can you walk? Thats a good lad, now come along, but slower this time."

The two walked to the nearby field and Azurite was unleashed to run as he would please as there were very few other Azrein or large obstacles now.

Ion grinned as he watched his son and after a minute joined him. The large stallion frolicked about the field in a most unleader like manner. But it felt so good to be free of most of his responsibilities that he just had to roll in it.

Azurite ducked his head after he was righted, tugging at the blanket until it relinquished his hooves. This was... An unfortunate choice of actions for the blanket, as the material split down the middle and hung in tatters before he realized what had happened. When one of the local tailors offered to repair the damage (In exchange for a bit more care on the foal's part) the colt handed over the blanket and hopped to his father's side, brightening up nearly as much as the electricity that seemed to course through his mane and tail. The soft glow of his markings and the pale brilliance of white stripes were finally visible without that flap of cloth hiding them so.

He "Yes, Papa"d, when it was called for, a sigh on his tongue as he kept to the stallion's side the way to the field, and was happy to run around and jump all over the field, looking more like a deer than some little colt. When Ion joined in, Zuru added some power behind his running and flew off the ground to try and jump.

This... Pretty much became a repeat of the scene outside the stable as his hooves caught the larger stallion's sides, lightly, of course, given his still minimal weight, but it sent him tumbling through the grass and giggling about it when he landed in a heap and started to pick himself up.

Ion was proud of his foals markings. He was very beautiful and this meant that he would soon see what his other sons looked like. All his boys seemed to have gotten a healthy dose of Opal's coloration as well they should. Ion was mostly monochromatic except for his bright blue eyes.

Ion oomfed when the foal made a garbled leap over him. Despite his lack of grace Ion was surprised that the foal had made it over him at all. The foal showed great potential physically. Especially now that the blanket was off of him.

"Nice leap son. We gotta work on your landing though. Ion leaped over his son and started to giggle at the heap of tangled blue and black legs on the ground.

Zuru watched in awe as his father easily cleared his height, hurrying to untangle himself and run after the older stallion, giggling all the way as he did. he found a ridge and tried again to hop over his father from it. Again, his landing was lacking in regality. His hoof folded under him, and he flopped accross the field, at the end of it picking himself up, using the momentum to reach his clumsy little hooves again. He giggled and chased after his father, to try again.

Ion laughed uproariously as he ran. It was a great feeling to run with his son. He could see parts of Opal, himself and Zuru's brothers in the blue and purple foal. Having a family filled his heart with joy. His family would be so proud.

Ion span and crouched in front of his son in a mock battle. He reared and whinnied, then snickered and ran for it.

Zuru only giggled, mimicking his father, except when Ion ran off, Zuru bolted after him, trying in equal portions to outrun the brute, jump over him, and, at one point, phase through him. The attempt at passing through flesh ended in a wall of flattened grass and another unflattering position, with Zuru looking the wrong way in the process. It took the colt a long moment to realize this, before he returned to the running and jumping, instead.

The phasing ended badly for Ion as well and to avoid churning his foal underneath his legs he simply flopped over, grass crumpled under the impact and once Ion was sure Zuru wasn't hurt he laughed and got up changed his mind and rolled in the grass instead. He kicked his legs in the air and relished his freedom. Occasionally a herd leader need this.. needed it bad. A time to relax and play and rediscover the lighter parts of his soul.

Soon they would have to return to the herd but for the moment it was time for tag. Ion popped up and raced after his son. "TAG!" he tapped him with his nose.

Zuru chuckled as he realized his father wasn't running and took to rearing on his hind legs to playfully bat at his father's hooves until he drooped over the wiggly stallion's belly giggling, even after he was pushed off by the motions, flopping onto his back to writhe in the grass with his dad.

He was obviously not expecting it when his father hopped up and tagged him, declaring the game 'on', and sprinted away, but he wasted only a few moments climbing to his feet and setting into a dead run after the stallion, head low and hooves flying over the grass below... At least, until he tried to corner. He just looked like a bundle of newborn foal learning to walk, flopping around in a heap, before he got his feet again, and hurried after the stallion that made up the entity that was his father.
