PostSubject: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeThu Nov 10, 2011 3:53 pm

WIth the coming of the winter festival, Zel had this urge to sneak away from the palace and the upper circle of nobility. The heady politics was getting to him. He wasn't of that world and would never be of that world even though he did go through the motions quite well. Hell, he insulted nobels to their faces if they didn't know how to hold their tongues.

But tonight....tonight he wanted to go to a place where everybody knew his name and didn't give a flying rat that he was the Crowned Grand Alchemst. Dressed in robes not fit for even traveling; browns, muttled greens, and a cloak of patches, he wandered into the Tavern of the Four Elk and sat down at a table. " Ah! Master Althos! The usual, this evening? " a voice called from behind the bar. Zel's hazel eyes brightened at that familiar deep voice. It was Marvis the Innkeepr, and a dear friend with some great skill in Ale brewing. His face lit up in a smile and nodded.

No sooner did he nod did a pint of the bitter pumpkin ale brew was set upon the table and a board of bread, cheese and fruit set before them as well. Saying grace to the Giver of all, he began his meal, humming a very lively tune that a bard was playing. " The Tale of the Fox of Maurden's Bane' was one of his favorite songs. " Oh, a fair lass of the Morrow's Glen came hailing down to Maurden's bane... And a man of fair and debonish air did sweep her far away.. Aaah the fox of Maurden's Bane did he steal the lass away and did wed her under moon in the light that made both swooon~...." , he mumbled along, surprisnly on key. Not as fluid as the Bard, but around Azreth all day one picked up some sort of ear for music at the very least.

THe Alchemist of the red beard and hair, giggled to himself and took a good swig of the ale. The spice, the sweetness and the punch was wonderful on the cold night. The barwenches weren't too bad either, then again, he didn't have time to play around with the fairer sex, or any sex to be honest. Lazily, he watched a bunch of unruly men in a corner.. A surly bunch. Looked like quite the trouble makers. Probably would harass the poor women working here. Unworthy scum.... Zel made a mental note to inform Azreth about the den of rats that were inhabitting the towns outskirts when he got back to the Palace tomorrow mornng for the routine wake up call.

Working in the Tavern of the Four Elk since midmorn, Celest heaves another sigh as she realizes she has to take the orders of ale to the waiting men that gave her the impression that there ma's dumped them all on there heads. They have a bad reputation for causing troubles with the servers, as a matter of fact that is the reason she was able to get the job in the first place. The last girl that waited tables quite because of these men fondling her then when denied any of them a night of passion, they turned mean and visious. She would lay these men flat on there backsides if she did not need this job so badly. Her grandpa has Grandpa ill leaving only her Grandma and herself to get funds.

A sweet melondy caputure her attention while she is taking the pitcher over to the roaudy men. She had never heard that song before but sounded nice. She has a sweet smile on her face forgetting that it would give the men she serves the wrong idea. She started to poor the mugs full with the ale so she could take a breather for a moment and hear the song more clearly. It seems though that fate was not lissening to her wish for a quite night with no harrasment.

One of the three men at the table noticed the wench serving his ale was not even paying attention to them. He reaches out and grabs her wrist forcing her to meet her gaze. "Wench we are talking to you and you damn well are going to lissen to us. You low life flith should be begging for out attention. Bet'cha your own mom got on her knees and begged to....." he continued to speak to her as if he had not only the right to do so but like she was nothing more than a slave or a animal.

Celest found herself grabbed and spoken down to like she was nothing more than some animal. The words where poisonous, crule, agragent and most of all hurtful. Something inside her snapped as she heard the patron try to speak ill of her ma. She felt heat surround her making her long hair start to wave around her. Her attention was solely on the man before her making everything else around her fade. "Get your hand off me now." She said with a low growl. She wanted to lash out and hurt him as his words hurt her. She wanted to see him bleed. Yet all she saw was flames. Fire that was burning as bright as her anger. She knew that there was no real flames yet it was close.

PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeThu Nov 10, 2011 6:07 pm

Continuing his song, Zel saw he had caught the eye of one of the attending waitresses. Nodding his head, he raised his stein in a poilte but distant greeting, and returned to his little ditty. Grapes and cheese were consumed as well as small nibbles of bread. It really was a great way to break his fast from the past six hour meeting.

And that was when it started. Gruff voices carried over the din of the tavern's merriment. Harassing voices that sounded like they had had one too many a drink and had their jaws broken one too many a times. The Alchemist's eyes grew dark as he observed, a scowl upon his face as he brought the holiday ale to his lips to sip again. A little dribbled down his beard of red, but that was a minor annoyance. His eyes were locked on the girl.. or in actuallity, the woman that had been caught in one of the more detestable looking male brute's grasp.

A small buzz in the back of his head told him that someone was tapping into their Skill. How queer, he thought, and glanced around to the only person he knew with the skill in this room. That was the innkeepr who looked horrified that his newest waitress was being harassed. It wasn't Marvis. Marvis couldn't call up the power of Pyros. His was a sweet and soothing blend of Terras and Aquas. Nothing powerful, just enough to aid in his cooking.

Zel's attention once again fell upon the girl. An eyebrow rose as he set his stein down and ran the hem of his cloak over his mane of a beard. The metal staff of his office was grabbed, a several gold crowns were scattered on the table, and he was up. With barely a twitch of his right eye, as he was prone to do that when he was interveining and casting a sheild on such short notice, the Grand Alchemist to the Crown had made a pretty little sheild to contain the raging fire that would surely burst forth and burn the very place to the ground. A mesh, a barrier... Keeping the fire further out of reach from the girl that asked for its help.

Already tapping into his skill, Zel grabbed more, tugging at the threads with his free hand in a dismissive wave. Aeros rushed up to meld with Terras and with a little bit of Aquas, the ale the woman had been pouring came to life in the form of a raging sea serpent. Of course it was made of ale and could only spit bubbles of the bitter dark liquid at its foes in the corner, it was still rather impressive. Zel raised his voice, barking with a cruel sneer at the men in the corner, " Get out before not only I ruin your evening, but I string you up by your tendonds you good for nothing scum of the earth! You don't belong in a place like this. "

That seal on his chest hit the light. The old and worn metal seeming to glow as he held onto the Skill and the strands. He watched with amusement dancing in his eyes as that ale dragon chased the men right out, its jaws snapping, snarling, and ripping into their clothing. Their skin was not harmed though. Though they'd be a little hung over from all those bites. And what a tale they'd tell! Ale turned into a dragon and chased them out of the Tavern! The proud serpent seemed to trot back in, holding what looked to be a boot in its mouth before Zel had enough of it. " . . . Aren't you smug. Back in the jug you go. And spit that out before that. I'll not have my drink tasting of moldy shoes. " The small serpent gave a snort, spat the boot out and seemed to wooosh right back into that pitcher Celest was holding.

Adjusting the mantle, and ignoring the rounds of applause from the patrons that knew him ( or the really drunk ones that hadn't a clue what was going on and thought that it was a show), Zel marched over, grabbed Celest by the arm and began to drag her out of the Tavern. " You. Are coming with me. You are in big shit. And you will start with explaining why you thought it was a good idea to set fire to everything in the Tavern . " His voice was not curel, it was kind, but firm. And the man was young, relativly speaking.

Zel had just turned Thirty not a few months ago, though you wouldn't know it. He looked at least twenty-seven or younger from the way the wrinkles quite didn't reach his eyes and from the way he held himself. But one thing was for sure, it was obvious that he was an Alchemist. And not only that, he was the King's Alchemist. And he was interested in Celset. " Tell me your name, girl. "

PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeFri Nov 11, 2011 2:51 pm

Celest waited for the patron to get his grubby hand off her so she could get in the back room and cool off her rising temper. She was past caring at making a scene which would more than likely end her chances of keeping this job. She just wanted that man’s hand off her, and now! She started to tremble with the need to act but knew she could not. His grip was punishingly hard and would no doubt leave a huge bruse on her fair skin. Her vison was still playing tricks on her making everything look reddish and hazey. This only seems to happen when she is really angry.

She felt a soothing breeze flow in the tavern, causing her hair to sway gently around her. The breeze felt good to her heated skin. She was surprised that the other man could not feel how hot she was though maybe it was all in her head. There has been a couple times that has happened before. Where she swore she felt on fire yet others could not feel it, or when she saw what she now calls ‘ghost flames’ like now. ‘Ghost flames’ are scary because They are flames that moves like its alive with intelligence.

Suddenly she felt something drop from above her yet around her. Like a bubble. It was solid yet could tell that others would not be able to see it. Just like the ‘Ghost Flames’. In the next moment her vison clears leaving the red haze a distant memory. She looks around her startled and confused. She’d never felt this kind of rushing power that is flowing around her, causing tingles to race up then back down her spine. Could there be another like me that see’s things and feels things that others cannot? She wondered to herself.

Her eyes locks on to the male, who was singing that beautiful song she’d wanted to hear so baddly, before this rude bunch started to manhandle her. She noticed that the male while standing was taller than her 5’7. His red hair and beard catches in the light shining like a fire making her breath stop in awe, she then continues to pick up other details. He has a old looking medallion made of matal hanging around his neck, that has somekind of unknown sysmbol. She was currious about it because she could swear she felt some trace of power coming from it. Could he be one of the fabled Mages? She thinks to herself.

Celest attention jerked to the pitcher she was holding noticing for the first time that strands of power ran to it. Her eyes widens in surprise as a form takes shape into what looks like a cute little sea dragon. She wanted to reach her other hand out and pet it but felt something in her telling her to just watch. She looks up from the pitcher and watches with a grin as the little sea dragon started to spit bubbles at the man holding her arm. She could barley hold her laughter in at the scene before her. She looks back at the man noticing his eyes filled with amusment. She shakes her head and looks back just in time to see the men running out of the tavern and a small sea dragon chasing them.

Her rescuer speaks to the sea dragon for a brief moment, before it spits out the boot, and returns to the pitcher as liquid. She sits the pitcher down on the now empty table. She felt glad that they where gone, those that treat people lesser than you are bullies. What is worse is that this was not the first time nor probley would it be the last time. With a sigh she turns towards the bar wondering if she still had a job or if she would have to find another one. She winces at the too late thought of her poor grandpa and the whole reason she put up with people like that jerk. She veagley heard the applause from the patrons of the tavern.

A large hand suddenly wraps around her arm and yanks her out of the tavern leaving her somewhat confused. Then she heard the male who rescued her voice. His words sounded far from pleased with her and she was not sure why. All she did was tell that patron to let go of her, sure she said it in a less than pleased voice but one could not blame her under the ciremastances. Seriously. She did not even cuss him out or kick him like she really wanted. So why then was her rescuer angry at HER? To make matters worse he was manhandleing her as well. It seemed to be the night for it.

Her eyes widens in shock and her breath catches. No one could ever see the Ghost Flames before. "Set fire to the tavern? I would never! I saw the Ghost Flames but no one else ever saw them before. I had asked Grandma and Grandpa but they did not know what I was talking about." She starts to tremble again only this time in fear. "Did I do something... wrong?"

Celest's family used to travel around selling there goods. She knew that others judged them by there wild looks. Long hair, mysterious eyes. Her clothing exotic. It seemed to attract all kinds of bad luck. She had to learn early on how to defend herself. She knew if it was a normal situation she could escape in seconds but he had power and could probley stop her. Her mind raced and could find no way out except to answer his questions. With a heavy heart she turns her gaze to meet his. "My name is Celest, sir." She dare not ask questions and risk even more trouble, though she badly wanted to know how he learned how to conjure that sea dragon. What his name was. She also wanted to know why everyone in the inn seemed to reconize him.

Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 12, 2011 1:02 pm

There was not a doubt in his mind that the woman would be confused. After all, one didn't simply summon up fire and knew what the hell was happening on a normal basis. He figured he'd explain while he continued to lead her to his home. The buildings would become nicer and well maintained, the people became far cleaner and stood straighter, and the guards became far more frequent and polite. Zel even nearly bumped into a patrol, though he managed to flow around it with a few gentil guiding steps around. " Ah! Excuse us. " Zel had said. In reply the guard smiled and spoke softly the words of , ' Your Grace should be careful on a night like this. By the Gods Grace...". Truthfully, the exchange puzzeled Zel. But that was for another time. He had more important things on his mind.

" Celest, was it? " he asked as he continued to lead her away, his staff making a clink on the cobbled ground as he walked, " You are not in trouble. In fact you are in fact probably very, very lucky right now that I found you before you blew yourself up. You are, however, out of luck as the ship to the Arcanum left and won't be back for another two years. However, I will send them a message and plead your case to train you in best I can so that you are equal to the the Novices that will litter those halls. " Excitement was in his voice as he continued to speak. Eventually he stopped walking at a haphazardly built looking building just in the shadow of the great Castle that housed the young and benevolent king.

His grip on her weakened to the point that he released her. Indeed, it was only to hold the door open for the probably frightened woman, but that was manners. And by the Gods, his dead mother taught him that much and he would use them, dammnit! " Do come in. I'm terribly sorry if I made you more afraid. You see, it isn't often I am off drinking after a day in in the blasted halls of pompous peacocks and I come across someone with absolute wonderful Potential of Skill. "

He would await for the probably frightened girl to enter, muttering to ask her to take a seat anywhere as he went about to manually set the tea kettle on. The place smelled of herbs, fire, magic, and above all comfort. Yes, bottles and vials and what not were around haphazardly, but at the same time it looked like complete order. She had arrived when he had finished cleaning. Even if there were books piled up to make makeshift legs for board. Heck, there were probably so many books here that it was quite clear that this man was a man that knew many, many things. The tea kettled screamed and the tea was poured and a wooden tray was set on the table where most likely the woman was sitting at.

" Ah.. I've been rude. I'm Zel Althos. An Alchemist. " He figured his name would tell her all she needed to know about him. He was the Crowned Grand Master Alchemist that resided on the island. Powerful, dangerous...and seemed to have a hand in almost anything that got done simply because he didn't want to make a mistake that would cause his beloved friend grief. " And you...Celeste, have a chance to join my order and become one of the very few to follow the path of the Arcane; the path of Balance. Its your choice though. Cream? Lemon? Sorry I don't have any sugar. I used it all when I was trying to make YellowFlayer-Hillswart taste sweeter than pure bitter piss. That stuff does wonders for my throat, but by the Giver, its so disgusting... Still don't have enough to make a better syrup. ".

Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 14, 2011 6:49 pm

Celest felt herself being pulled along after the silent male rescuer. She looked around her in a daze barley taking anything in due to her confusion and fear. Her mind was racing with so many questions and no way to voice them in public. She tries to clam herself with deep breaths but as soon as she realized the shabby parts of town fade to the nicer areas where buildings are nicer and bigger, her panic came back only worse than before.

Guards peers at her with glare of warning. Her kind is never welcomed over here in the high scale citizens. She grew self conscious of herself. Her dress though in good conditions had a few mends from tears and holes. Her hair which is long and flowing down to her hips has a scarf so the long bangs would not block her sight. Her shoes well worn could use a replacement. All this showing everyone who cared to look that she did not belong in this part of town. Her shoulders hunched down as a feeling of doom speared through her.

Still she was pulled further and further towards the nobles homes. The guards over here would love the chance to through someone like her into the cell for awhile. They would say it was there duty to toss the 'trash' out. She flinches as her silent rescuer nearly bumps into a patrol then to her horror herd that her rescuer was a noble. She looks down at the clean street trying hard to become invisible as she could.

Tap..tap...tap. The noise of his staff made on the cobbled street they walked on. Each sound was echoed by her heart. Suddenly she hears his voice piece through her confused brain having a calming affect on her. She looks up towards his face to better read it. He started to tell her about her luck of not being blown up yet unlucky to get some kind of noble airship. As if they would let the likes of her aboard though why would he think she would need to go to the Arcanum School? She did not have the Skill she herd so much about. His words sounds excited which confused her all the more.

Suddenly they stopped in front of a house that seemed to her kind of homey. She knew that the nobles would call this place haphazardly but then they never had to sleep on the ground or in a tree either. To her surprise he held his door open for her so she could walk inside. She gave a faint smile of thanks as she took a couple steps inside then took a step to the side to let him past her so she knew where to go. Then her words made her knees weak. Potential in Skill, her? "Sir, I mean your Grace. I am afraid you are mistaken. I have no Skill. I just see things is all. No one else could see it."

She looked around her then sat gently on the floor noticing the smell of herbs and something else that made the back of her head tingle. She saw books and vials everywhere though in some kind of pattern that made since to the owner. She dare not touch anything though not knowing if it was safe.

Soon a tea kettle whistles letting her know that whatever he was brewing was finished. She waited for him to return though she is still nervous. Her mouth drops open as she herd his name. Everyone knew who he was. Many called him one of the Kings Shadows. Where he went the King was likely somewhere near. She looked around her in panic. She could not let the King see her, bad enough that Zel saw her like this. Her head whips back as he told her that she had a chance to join his order. She was not sure what she would become or how though. "Lemon please." She said without thought to his question for the tea. She smiles briefly at his delima of syrup. "Are you sure I could join your order? That you could teach me? I mean I am lowborn gypsy. Not many will look favorly at this. Many would rather I be tossed in a cell just for walking on those clean cobbled streets we traveled today. I am under the impression that you are an advisor to the King as well. People on the street call you the Kings Shadow." She said this calmly yet softly as if not sure if her opinion would be welcomed.

Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 21, 2011 3:44 am

Her words about his title made the Alchemist raise an eyebrow that soon was threatened to get lost in the shadow of his hood. A small frown and he sighed with a crooked smile he most likely picked up from his companions in the palace, " My full title is ' Your Esteemed Grace, Crown Alchemist of the Floating Isle, Grand Master Zel Althos'. If you are going to use it, might as well say it all. It's a little less annoying in the long run. Though quite a mouth full. Lemon was it? Yes... " He snickered softly as he went about setting her tea. A lemon wedge was squeezed into the cup and dropped inside before the tea -- a black tea from the south -- was poured over. He wasn't sure how much lemon, so he defaulted to one. How generous of him.

The saucer and cup was placed before her as he made himself a cup of tea with cream and a squeeze of lemon as well. The cup was brought to his lips and he took a sip. It was satisfying and warm, though not quite as delicious as the brew he had been sampling earlier this evening before the incident occurred. " If it wasn't Skill, then what was it, pray tell? One doesn't simply wish for something and it appears out of thin air, nor does on see something. They would be considered crazy. Now... Since you have that illusion that you indeed are seeing things and are special, I'm going to assume that you are indeed skilled in the way of the elements. Highly unrefined though. " Rambling was something she might grow used to, but for now he really did seem like a senile man rambling away. He shrugged and pulled back his hood revealing that he probably wasn't any older than herself. And his brilliant red hair and beard and hazel eyes didn't hurt either. He regarded her silently for a moment, sipping at the tea while she no doubt stumbled over a defense.

Ah.... Youth. Well, no. Technically he was still young and considered a youth, but a few years of slinging spells and watching the world crumble around people you kinda age quickly mentally. " And before you dare ask, yes. Those that are of a high Skill can sense when someone else is using it. It depends on the fineness of the spell and how easily it comes to the person, but most spells can be sensed if they're quite volatile, such as what you were wishing. " He waved a dismissing hand and then started looking around his person for something. Frowning, Zel then spotted what he was looking for -- a tea spoon sitting on the clean side of the sink-- and huffed. " Pardon the reach...." he grumbled raised a hand and pretty much yanked that spoon from where it was to his hand. It was a fluid motion, a graceful and easy catch...and very subtle magic. He wasn't trying to bring home his point, it just happened to be there . Amazing how things work out.

Carefully, he spooned a few spoonfuls of sugar into his tea, stirred it a bit, and poured himself a bit more before he took a sip to analyze the sugar to tea ratio. It was a little off on the sweet side, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by drinking a bit more before diluting it. " Now-- Celeste, was it-- since the transport to the Arcane Academy does not arrive nor depart until after Spring Festival, we have some time to catch you up to basics your recruiter would have no doubts taught you. First off ; stop slouching and sit up straight! And second; class doesn't matter anymore. Well, it will, just not really among anyone that is petty to give a damn about class. " Another sip of tea and he thought for a moment that maybe she was hungry, " Would you like something to eat? Or maybe a piece of paper and a quill to write this all down? There is going to be a test on this, you see. After all... You will be staying by my side so I can at least see to it you don't blow yourself or something else up. Too soon? Anyways... " he waved his hand that was still holding the spoon, holding it as one would a conducting wand for a band or orchestra, " Once you pass all the tests you are automatically considered upper middle class by those pantie hose wearing peacocks that think their social life is far more important than learning a trade like the rest of the people that get stuff done. Oh, and fancy robes and a neat staff. Though, you could go the way of the Magus.... their hats are rather dashing with those points and large brims and what not. You could even stuff some fruit up there and be quite stylish ... " A giddy grin, and a good hearted laugh later, Zel wiped the corner of his eye with a thumb and set to stirring his tea again almost in an absent fashion.

" Though... I suppose I should have asked you if you ever even dreamed about becoming one of the Arcane. And, in subsequent to that, joining our small but powerful numbers. Its a volatile job, but someone has to keep this damnn rock balanced from itself. "

Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste )    Fire at the Inn! ( Zel and Celeste ) I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 26, 2011 6:17 pm

Celest gets a dismayed look as Zel rattles his whole title off to her. "That is a long title, what would you prefer me to call you?" She was worried she would not remember all of his title if someone asked. She always called people Sir, Ma'am as was proper for her station in life. She made a blunder copying what the guard said in the street. She made note of that so not to make that mistake again. Celest picks up her cup of tea carefully so as not to spill any on the floor. She takes a small taste of tea tasting the rich flavor. She smiles as she noticed the whole lemon slice at the bottom of her cup. At home she only had the watered down herbal tea that was from there garden. Her eyes closes as she takes yet another taste. "This tea is really good. Thank you so much."

Celest places the cup of tea in her lap so she paid better attention to his words. As he was talking about her having Skill something clicked in her mind, a final piece of the puzzle that she'd been trying to figure out. Strange things has happening around her, like for an example knowing a storm before it hits. She felt more comfortable with animals than she did around people. She could feel others emotions that tended to put her on edge. Other times she swore that others could tell what she is feeling even though she knew her face would not give her away. There is also the 'Ghost Flames' to consider. His reaction in the Tavern was as if he thought she put everyone at risk.

Celest surprises herself by saying, "There has been strange things that was easily written off as just coincidences. Like telling my Grandma of a huge storm coming and to get the clothes, herbs and horses inside shelter. Also.." She nibbles her lower lip before continuing on. "Can people pick up on others emotions? I always feel on edge around groups of people. Once I am alone or with animals I feel like I can breath for the first time."

Celest stops talking as she felt him reach for the spoon only with something other than his hands, Magic. She felt shocked and wondered if her face showed it as well. She'd never seen or felt that before. "May I.. may I please have some sugar as well?" She smiled at herself rudely as she noticed the slight wobble in her words. She takes a breath then lets it out. "Sorry, I have not seen that before or 'felt' something like that. It was, could you do that again? That is amazing." She now has a bright smile as if shown Christmas for the first time.

Arcane Academy? He truly thought she was good enough to go there! Tests? How would one test for such things? If Zel did teach her till Spring Festival then maybe she would better understand the strange things that tends to happen around her. She sits up straight with a soft sorry after he pointed out she was slouching. Her breath catches as he told her that she might not have to worry about if she would be tossed in a cell just for looking at the wrong person. That was truly amazing thought and would take some time to process.

"May I please have both." Her tummy rubbled a little to her embarrassment. "I seem to have forgotten breakfast this morning." Actually she did have breakfast prepared ready to take to her work and eaten in the back as she prepared for work, however there was a beggar child who had no home that was far more in need of the food than she was. She knew all to well what it felt like missing meals.

"I would love to learn the Arcane Sir, anything that you would like to teach me really. I do not know the difference of the Magus or Alchemist. Just that both are powerful in there respective branch's. Maybe you would be able to tell me what I would be better at once you get to know me." She gives a shy smile. "There are a few questions I have first though. If I still have my job at the tavern I must keep working or if not then find someplace to work. My grandpa is ill and my grandma watching him and doing small dancing, fortune tellings. They depend on the money I bring in." She sighs sadly. "Where and when would you like to teach?" She assumed he would want her to stay where she had been. She would never tell him that she was not living with her Grandparents. She was actually staying in the attic in the barn where the horses are stabled. She cared for the animals who are her best friends. "I also care for a few horses. Grooming, feeding and sometimes taking them for a run." Her voice is filled with pride and happyness while she talked about caring for the horses. It was after all an honor to care for horses.

Zel did as requested, retrieving another spoon, though dropping it on the table instead of to a hand. Honestly... Kids these days. The alchemist continued attending to his tea for some time, noding at her questions and requests as well as qualifications. Honestly...what was he getting himself into.

" You will be staying here for at least until the spring when you will travel to the Arcane Academy where you will study under some of the brightest book smart people ever. Practical lessons wiill be between students so do be prepared to impliment basic sheilding straight up. I recomend learning the moldable. Black book, page two hundred and six, title is ' Shields and You'. Some dead guy wrote it. " Another sip of tea was taken and he took stock of her. She looked like shit. With a frown and a raise of his eyebrow he took stock of her energies as well. Not bad.... still a bit chaotic. " Again you will be staying here. Tomorrow you will gather your items from the inn or wherever you are staying at and move in here to the spare bedroom until Spring where you will ship off for at least a half a year. I have a feeling you will be going into something a bit more specialized that would need hands on training. After that... I can show you the island. Somehow I think you would be very interested in Leylines.... The Leykeeper will be at the Academy, you may ask him anything about it as he knows more than I do. "

Celest woke up suddenly from a nightmare. She looks around her noticeing the room is different. This was a room that bigger than her stable loft. The bed was by far more soft which in conquince made it hard for her to sleep on. Latter she would refelect on this with a smile, for she had always wondered what a nice soft bed would feel like instead of her straw mattress. Not that she would complain, Mind you for she was lucky for having that straw mattress and she knew it. The linen was even softer and warmer. Though this room was really nice and huge she felt unconfterable. This is a nobles house. She had been told all her life that she was lower than the lowest. That her kind was to be tossed in a cell or to be killed off.

In a panic she rushed out of the house to the backyard where she left her two horses the previous day. She had not seen him yet to tell him she brought them over and waiting to take them to the Castles stables. She hugs a beautiful mare who is a pearl white, with a mark on her snout that reminds her of a cresent moon. She named her Artemis because of that mark. She whispers gently pooring out all her thoughts and emotions. The confusion she felt. A soft nuge from A brown spotted Stallion makes her turn her head with a smile. His name is Poseidon. She reaches out and pets him as she softly starts to sing a song her grandmother taughter her. Its melondy is soft and soothing.

After the song ended she was better able to think of what to do. She realized that maybe she could stay in the Castles stables. She could take care of her two horses as well as some of the others between her breaks and free time. That way she would not disturb Zel more than need be. After all she knew that her nightmares could get really get bad and wake him. He did not need those problems.
